How to use Israel Sites
Instructions
Sites Mode:
Click on the “Sites” icon in the lower left corner.
Use the Alphabet Strip to find your site.
Scroll through the sites by moving your finger up or down on the screen.
To open, press once on your site’s name.
The page for your site will appear with the Title, Photo, Description, Biblical Text (if any), Additional Photos and Map options.
• Photo:
To open the photo, press the photo once. A larger photo will appear.
To enlarge or shrink image, place two fingers on the photo and slide fingers opened or closed.
To move around in a photo, slide your finger across the screen in any direction.
To exit, use the “Back” button in the top left corner near the Title.
• Description, Biblical Text, Visitor Information, Additional Photos, and Map:
To expand and contract information for: Description, Biblical Text, Visitor Information, Additional Photos, and Map, press once on the “Show/Hide” button.
• Map:
Press the “Show” button.
A red pin will drop on the Map location of the site.
To enlarge or shrink the map, place two fingers on the photo and slide fingers opened or closed.
To see other sites, while in Map Mode, press the white “Pin” icon in the menu bar just above the “Music” icon.
Press on any red pin to make the name of the site appear in a menu bar.
If no red pins appear, the pins may be just out of site off screen.
Drag your finger across the screen in any direction until other pins appear or shrink the map by applying a pinching motion to the screen.
To go to the new site’s information page, press the blue and white arrow button in the menu bar of the new site.
• Exit:
To exit from the site page: Use the “Back” button in the upper left corner on the Title bar.
Resources Mode:
Click on the Resources icon, the second from the lower left corner.
Use the Alphabet Strip to find your site.
Scroll through the Resources by moving your finger up or down on the screen.
To open, press once on your Resource’s name.
The page for your Resource will appear with the Title, Photo (if any), Description.
To exit from the resource page:
Use the “Back” button in the upper left corner near the Title.
Notes Mode:
The Notes Mode allows you to make a journal entry and take a photo of each site you visit. You can email the note and photo.
To start, press on the Notes icon, second from the lower right corner.
To start a new note press the “+” button.
Press your finger to the screen.
A cursor will appear as well as the virtual keyboard.
Type your note, journal or message.
To save and exit, press “Done” in the upper left corner.
To toggle between saved notes, press the right and left arrows.
To add a photo, press the “Camera” icon, and take the photo.
You can move and scale the photo inside the square frame.
To save, press “Use”, to discard and try again, press “Retake”.
When you press “Use” the “Camera” icon will switch to a blue “Photo” icon.
Press the icon and your photo will appear.
To return to your note, press the “Back” button.
The photo will attach to your note when you email the note.
To access the photo again while on a note, press the blue “Photo” icon.
To delete the photo, press the “Trash” icon in the upper right corner, then press the red “Delete” bar.
Press “Cancel” if you want to keep the photo.
To email, click the “Letter” icon.
Complete the addressing and subject blocks.
To send, press the “Send” button in the upper right corner.
To cancel or save the email, press the “Cancel” button in the upper left.
Choose the “Delete Draft” or “Save Draft” button.
To discard the note, click the “Trash” icon.
Press “Delete” to finalize the discard or “Cancel” to return to the note.
To return to the Notes menu, click the “Back” arrow in the upper left corner.
Music Mode
Click on the Music icon in the lower right corner.
Features include: Play, Pause, Stop, Previous Song, Next Song, Repeat 1, and Repeat All.
Volume: Use the volume control on your phone for the level of music playback.
Music will play in background while in other modes or while in other apps.
To stop music, go into the Music Mode and press the “Stop” or “Pause” button.
